Opus One celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells whose streaming video was seen live by more than 4,500 people and which currently has more than 1.8 million views. Days later, he performed the first magnum opus at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona with the collaboration of Maggie Reilly.
Later, the Catalan orchestra collaborated again with the prestigious auditorium in Barcelona presenting Mike Oldfield's second album, Hergest Ridge, and the third, Ommadawn. This last concert sold out all tickets.
For the interpretation of Hergest Ridge and Ommadawn Opus One has always counted on the solo voice of the Galician singer Rosa Cedrón, former collaborator of Mike Oldfield on the Tubular Bells III album.
Opus One interpreted, for the first time in history, Mike Oldfield's "magical trilogy" in a single concert, on the occasion of the total eclipse of the sun in the city of Palencia.
These important works have a great symphonic breath. For its performance, Opus One has worked with the Brossa Quartet, the Bruckner Choir of Barcelona, the Nox Choir of Madrid, the oboist Núria Moreno, the harpist Esther Pinyol, the trumpeters Ivó Oller and David Pastor, or the piper Peyo García, among others.
